At St Barnabas and St Paul’s our EYFS department comprises of two Reception classes.
We follow the statutory requirements for the EYFS which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/335504/EYFS_framework_from_1_September_2014__with_clarification_note.pdf
We have a balance of child initiated and adult led activities. The children have access to a range of indoor and outdoor continuous provision.
We follow the curriculum for the foundation stage and plan activities that are at the level of the children. By the end of the year our aim is for children to have achieved the Early Learning Goals. The Early Learning Goals and the stages that precede them can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/237249/Early_Years_Outcomes.pdf
This year we have undertaken the CEM Base Baseline tests with all our children at the start of the year.
