Personal, Social, Health and Citizen Education teaches children to value themselves, to begin to develop personal values and to be aware of, and respond to, the needs of others. Through PSHCE we aim to help equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives and to become informed active, responsive citizens. This includes exploring the British Values as democracy (responsible freedom of speech), the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of faiths.
It is taught through:
· Designated class time.
· Other curriculum subjects.
· Enrichment activities e.g. Circle Time
The core of the curriculum is taught through the SEAL programme and supplemented with additional learning. The British Values are incorporated in our creative curriculum.
Please see below our what each year group covers in our PSHCE programme through our long term plan.
