Maths interventions

"Tell me and I forget.

Teach me and I remember.

Involve me and I learn."

- Benjamin Franklin

At Barnabas and St Paul's, one of our aims is to ensure that each child is working at the age-related expectations for their year group. Due to this, we offer small maths tutoring groups, run by one of our qualified school tutors to support children with their understanding of maths. We also have a keep up maths intervention programme in place where children can learn key maths skills and concepts in small groups to address areas which require more support. In order to achieve this, we use the Ready to Progress criteria which focuses specifically on the objectives a child must meet at the end of each year group to be ready to progress into the next. Details of this criteria can be found in the document below along with how our current scheme matches up to this.
