Loss and Grief

The death of a parent or sibling or any family member is a devastating situation for a child, but with the right support at the right time, delivered in the right way, we know these children can go on to lead full and flourishing lives.

Below you will find a website to support children and families when someone close has died.

A recommended activity book to help your child with their thoughts and feelings when someone has died is "Muddles, Puddles and Sunshine."

This book offers a structure and an outlet for the many difficult feelings which inevitably follow when someone dies. It aims to help children make sense of their experience by reflecting on the different aspects of their grief, whilst finding a balance between remembering and having fun. This book is a useful companion in the present, and will become an invaluable keepsake in the years to come.

"Badger's Parting Gifts"

This book provides children with a means to understand grief and bereavement.
